Objectives

Based on the identified needs for promotion and implementation of ST in the Uzbekistan and Kosovo* and taking into account specific objectives defined by the Erasmus Plus Programme Guide (section Capacity Building in the field of higher education), the specific objectives of the project for all PC partner countries are as follows:

1) identification and recommendation for managing of ST key issues in Uzbekistan and Kosovo*. Within this objective, the problem identification of ST key issues in Uzbekistan and Kosovo* shall be conducted first, and then analysis of established practices in EU countries for ST will be carried out and at the end there will be a recommendation for managing ST key issues in Uzbekistan and Kosovo*.

Indicators for measuring achievement: report of established practices in EU countries for ST and report on key issues for ST to be managed in Uzbekistan and Kosovo*.

2) to improve and develop the existing curricula for undergraduate and master studies in accordance with Bologna requirements and national accreditation standards by implementing new courses in the field of ST. These courses should cover provisions concerning Ecological and sustainable design in road traffic, new technologies of means of transport, improvement of transport (integral transport systems, drivers’ education, logistics and organization of transport…), types of transport that do not pollute the environment, environmental protection. The aim of the improved study programs is to include the different disciplines such as organization of transport, intelligent transport systems, environmental sciences as well as through establishment new ST laboratories in Uzbekistan and Kosovo*. The equipment obtained through the project will be used for the establishment of the laboratories where the students will have practical lectures related to the ST. 

Indicators for measuring achievement: 6 developed and implemented ST curricula (2 in Kosovo*, 4 in Uzbekistan). The modernized/new ST curricula will precisely define the teachers’ competencies, learning outcomes, course content and syllabi. 6 new laboratories will be established with appropriate equipment and manuals.

3) To develop and implement the training program for the transportation professionals in line with up-to-date scientific knowledge on issues related to the ST. The analysis of citizens’ and public sector awareness will be done aiming to identify the level of knowledge about the ST, in order to prepare effective training programmes for transportation professionals. The selected teachers from PC HEIs will prepare programmes of the trainings that will be applicable in Uzbekistan and Kosovo*.

Indicators for measuring achievement: development and implementation of trainings for transportation professionals; each Uzbekistan and Kosovo* HEI will conduct 12 one-day trainings for transport professionals.
