What will the transportation systems of tomorrow look like? This September, Chania will become a meeting point for international researchers, universities and transport professionals as the Erasmus+ SPHERE project presents its conference “Mechanics of Transportation: Green, Safe and Smart”.
Hosted by the Technical University of Crete on 7–8 September 2026, the two-day scientific event will explore the ideas and technologies shaping cleaner mobility, safer roads and smarter transport networks. The programme brings together research on sustainable urban mobility, intelligent systems, driving simulation and road safety, electric vehicles, energy efficiency and modern engineering education.
Through scientific presentations and exchanges between academia and transport stakeholders, SPHERE aims to move sustainable transportation from research and policy into practical solutions — and strengthen international cooperation for the mobility challenges ahead.
